JANE MULFINGER: Gradients I & II, Old Airport Hangar, Goleta, California, 2012

These images are the first of a series of photographic works that recontextualize the rise, fall, and renewal of the built environment. Gradients I and II were constructed on the site of a former airplane hangar in Goleta, California. Further models for future image constructions are below. Piled, stacked and balanced gradients are pulled temporarily from the rotation of consumables and arranged in geometric form within the poetics of the architectonic field.
